  • Jason Henson - guitar

Rachel Bundy & Jason Henson Jason's ability to blend in or take centre stage makes his solo performances ideal for many occasions. He can provide a genuine touch of class and create a subtle, atmospheric environment for listeners and diners alike. Jason plays songs from a classic era and has a particular gift with soothing jazz standards by the likes of Rogers & Hart, Gershwin and Duke Ellington.
Jason first picked up a guitar in 1990. In that same year he also began performing live with rock, pop and blues bands. He then went on to form a band playing original funk material. It was the improvisation involved in funk and blues that really caught Jason's imagination. This together with listening to Miles Davis and John McGloughlin led him to pursue a career in jazz.
By 1996 Jason was a well-established professional jazz musician in Brighton and had also performed at the Glasgow jazz festival. He was constantly together with other musicians - playing, listening to or talking about music.
Jason went on to study jazz for two years at Chichester College. He has also toured much of Europe including France, Spain and Turkey, whilst also performing for a variety of public and private functions in and around Brighton.
Jason currently plays solo, duo, trio, quartet and quintet gigs with many of the top jazz players on the south coast. Much of his time is spent playing with the eight-piece 1930's & 40 ‘s swing band Rockin’ in Rhythm.
